Halloween fell on a Sunday this year. For the visiting Surrey Breakers, this wa s a day in which each player came to play. They outhustled the Lower Island Predators for the first 75 minutes and held on to steal the victory. Super mom, Janice Lee photographed the girls on this day. She is an exceptional photographer ensuring that she gets a quality action shot of each player. In the cover shot, we see the game ball eluding the elevated arms of the Breaker's keeper. The inset shows a smiling Kristyn whose direct kick was inspired by the passing of her grandmother 2 days earlier.

Images in this albulm were photographed by Mike Krayenhoff using her new Canon Digital SLR Camera and Sigma lens. She likes to call it her new adventure. The game was played at Hjorth Road Park in North Surrey near the Guilford Mall on a sunny Rememberance Day. Guilford u15 Marlins were the opponent dressed in silver with blue numbers and trim. The Predators wore white tops with red shorts & socks. The first half was a total Guilford attack who built up a 3-0 half time lead. After Jon's pointed message at the break, the girls came to life scoring 1 goal and setting up numerous scoring opportunities. Final result; Guilford Marlins 3 - Lower Island Predators 1

The journey to Chilliwack had the Predators driving through the season's first snowfall in Abbottsford along the Trans Canada Hwy. We were soon in the cool climes of Chilliwack. A positive result would mean personal sacrifices made inside the offensive and defensive 18 yard boxes. Meghan H is shown here splitting the Chilliwack Impact defenders inside the attacking 18 yard box. She was literraly mauled on this play in the first half without a whistle for her effort. Revenge was best served in the second half wherby Meghan made an equally brave attack inside the attacking 18. This time, the referee called the infraction. Kristyn calmly placed the ball low to the keeper's left on the ensuing PK that capped the come from behind 2-2 draw. The photographs are courtesy Mike Krayenhoff. She shot over 300 action packed images on this day. Thank you Mike.

We will all remember the second Saturday of the year. Together, we raised over $1800 to benefit those impacted by the devastating Tsunamis that rocked South East Asia, India, Sri Lanka and Eastern Africa. All photos in this gallery were submitted by Harold McNeill of Lower Island Soccer. We are truely grateful to have a pictoral memory of the event. Together, we can make things happen.

A rare Saturday make-up game was played at Topaz Park versus the visiting Abbotsford Mariners. This would be the first game back from the winter break and canceled games due to weather induced field closures. The home team dominated posession, however the visitors stole the points and the 3-1 victory over the home team. Predators were alive in the first half scoring the equalizing goal by Veronica in the 24th minute, inspired by the passing of her grandmother earlier that week. For the Predators, it was their first taste of defeat since the last week of November.

Amelia moves to the front moments before the post game hand shake with the Port Coquitlam Magic. The girls played a solid game defensively for the second consecutive Sunday while earning a 1-1 draw. The smiles reward the game of soccer. Our provincial coach and national u19 women's coaches were in attendance. It was comforting to see this team play through adversity with only one sub available. An exhaustive effort was displayed by all with each individual dedicated to the team performance. The future looks bright. Thank you to Mike for the cool images and to Nigel for his preparation of our back up keeper.

North Island Nitro hosted the Lower Island Predators in the grudge match for Island bragging rights. Nanaimo's Caledonia Park was the venue on a cool and cloudless February afternoon. Of note was the conversation between myself, Meghan H and Carly regarding how often Meghan has been photgraphed well throughout the season. She seems to always be captured in our photographers lenses in great action shots. Carly was quick to compliment Meghan by telling her just how photogenic she is on the field! Today's photographer was Mike, and she caught Meghan in a great move late in the game from behind the western goal for another Meghan classic just seconds before scoring the final goal. You are truely photogenic M. Great shot too Mike.
